An Art Activity was held this year, on the Monday ,10th and Tuesday 11th of August 2020 .It was new ground for everyone involved, including students as well as teachers.
The primary aim of this activity was to distract everyone from the current world scenario. The participants were made to use material that could be easily available around their household. Using non -traditional materials with different textures forced all students to think outside the box, and built up their creativity, thinking levels etc .The execution of the activity was of a very high level in terms of cutting and assembling of things which showed maturity beyond students age level.
The eminent judges were :
Mr ShashankTere [Leading production designer]
Mr Nishant Desai [Creative director,UDA]
A remarkable Initiative by Veer Vora , Campionite, class of 2019-20
“As the lockdown showed its strength it was time for me to decide what I should do with the time at hand. I tried a few dishes in the kitchen but Mathematics has been my favourite and my dad suggested trying to teach as an option. I had done my first round of teaching Maths at Salaam Baalak Trust in Mumbai, and this time my dad explained the importance of teaching students in rural India. He reached out to Vishwa Academy at Akkalkot , Solapur. They were initially a little hesitant and offered me 5th or 6th STD Math. However I suggested 9th Grade as I was quite confident. I was told to prepare a video and send it to school. I did the same and the principal was thrilled. I was officially given permission and I am now teaching 9th STD children Maths and it is a fantastic experience. I am learning with them with tough questions thrown at me and it is teaching me so many things like discipline and patience to hear others. I plan to continue this as I get more confidence and I am feeling different with kids calling me “Sir”. There cannot be anything bigger than giving something to others and sharing or giving knowledge is probably something invaluable. My school Campion taught me well and it’s time I do the same.
